Deeper Than Us…Oh my God. I got the chills so many times toward the end of this book. It completely blew my mind. Let me preface this with an apology. If I sound stunningly inarticulate at times in this review, I can't help it. This has completely blown my mind. Isn't it wonderful when you come across a book that completely engrosses you, causes you to fall in love with the characters and demands that you stay on the edge of your seat throughout the entirety of it? One of those books is this one. An extremely powerful and inspirational story of a young lady named Anna Bella. The plot revolves around Bella, who is a twenty-year-old. She fell in love with someone from a family of a higher standard than her own, and this created some havoc for her family. She resides in Petaluma, California. She was unaware that her mother and the father of the boy she was in love with had a love history. With its intricately detailed scenarios and stories—which are more about the love story and the results of all actions—this book is unpredictable. It is so fully fleshed out and spine-tinglingly what Anna Bella went through. This is Shelly's first novel, but she has complete control of her story and her style. Read and you will definitely love it.
This book is about the young and innocent Anna Bella Amaro, a young woman, from a close knit, Italian American family, who falls in love for the very first time with Javier’s Velasquez. Javier is worldly, strikingly, handsome and the son of wealthy but ruthless business owners. The Valesquez name represents multiple restaurants and wine vineyards. This for bidden love affair will forever change Anna Bella’s life as family secrets, lies, and deception unravel ,trust, forever broken. This book will keep you captivated from start to finish !! a great summer read I highly recommend.
“Deeper than us: Secrets Run Deep” is the first part of the trilogy which is a fantastic and fun book if you are looking for something heartwarming and whimsical. Shelly has carefully defined the chemistry between Anna Bella, and Javier Velasquez which really kept me going and the side characters have an equal weightage to contribute to the story. Deeper than us just like any other book it did start with a sweet, magical romance. Anna and Javier knock heads a bit when they first meet, but sparks flew every time they were together. So playful, and fun, this surprising relationship begins with love at first sight between both of them. Anna an Italian girl from California hails from a middle-class family while Javier is of Spanish descent and is from a wealthy family owning several restaurants and vineyards. When both hearts unite, everything goes well until they get to know that there has been a surprising secret between both families. While Javier plans on getting his business going, and then moving on to his next investment. There are lots of twists and turns that are introduced in their relationships. The story remained interesting to read from the beginning and it kept engaging through the end of the book. I could not believe Shelly is a debut author into the classic romance I’m sure that even you would never guess. Her language and plot content are so beautiful and enjoyable at the same time the story is a perfect gem. “Secrets Run Deep” will join the ranks of my favourites I am sure that I’ll be rereading it right from the beginning very soon. It's one of those feel-good stories that stay with you for a while. One of the better romance books I have read in 2022. I’m eagerly anticipating the next in the series.
